Joubertina
Geography and History
Joubertina is situated along the tranquil Langkloof (meaning long valley), between the peaks of the Tsitsikamma and the Kouga Mountains in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. Overlooked by peak Formosa (1675m), the highest point in the Tsitsikamma Mountains, the extremely cold winter months and warm summer months are ideal for the apple farmers.
Activities
The area around Joubertina enjoys blossom time in the Spring! The Langkloof becomes an unforgettably fragrant experience! Throughout the year fertile valley's fruit and flowers charm many visitors. The Langkloof Festival (Blossom Festival) is held around August.
Home to the “Kouga Mummy”, the Honeybush Tea industry and a huge wealth of biodiversity and scenic splendor is to be remembered and treasured.
Business
The economy is dominated by decidious fruit farming (apples, pears, etc.) and Tourism. The orchards, Fynbos (2000 varieties) and mountains create a wonderful tranquil harmony that serves as a gateway to many attractions.
