LeKaRoux - Farm Style self catering cottages situated on the Route 62 between Ladismith and Calitzdorp, Western  Cape, South Africa

Welcome to Le KaRoux, situated in the Opsoek Valley, between Ladismith and Calitzdorp on the famous Route 62. Our stunning area offers mountain biking and hiking. We are 2km from the iconic Seweweekspoort, 2km from Amalienstein (mission town) and 5km from the Huisrivier Pass (R62) where there are many stops to enjoy the rugged scenery.

LeKaRoux Farm Accommodation

We have 4 cottages and an Old Farm House:

The White House

• This has an open plan lounge/kitchen area – with coal stove in the kitchen.
• The bedroom has a queen size bed and fireplace in the bedroom
• Separate bathroom with shower (En-suite)
• The cottage has a Stoep on the front of the cottage with a fireplace
• Need to bring own drinking water
• The cost per night for the cottage is R700
• Houses 2 people
• Minimum 2-night stay
• Comes with 1st bundle of wood, thereafter R20 for 16 pieces

Chalet 1

• This chalet has 2 single beds
• Separate bathroom with shower
• Basic kitchen facility, fridge, basin, kettle, microwave, small 2 plate/oven etc.
• Small front Stoep with fireplace/braai
• Need to bring own drinking water
• The cost per night is R500
• Houses 2 people
• Minimum 2-night stay
• Comes with 1st bundle of wood, thereafter R20 for 16 pieces

Chalet 2

• This chalet has a double bed
• Separate bathroom with shower
• Kitchen facilities, fridge, kettle, coal stove, indoor fireplace
• Small front Stoep.
• Fireplace on the lawn in front of the cottage
• Need to bring own drinking water
• The cost is R550 per night for the cottage
• Houses 2 people
• Minimum 2-night stay
• Comes with 1st bundle of wood, thereafter R20 for 16 pieces

Joan’s Cottage

• This is a rock cottage with a double bed
• Kitchen facilities, fridge, kettle, 2 plate gas stove
• Separate bathroom with shower
• Small front Stoep with outdoor fireplace
• 1 Plate small wood burning stove inside the cottage
• Need to bring own drinking water
• Lovely view
• The cost is R650 per night for the cottage
• Houses 2 people
• Minimum 2-night stay
• Comes with 1st bundle of wood, thereafter R20 for 16 pieces

Le KaRoux Onderplaas (Old Farm House)

• This is an old farmhouse
• Kitchen facilities: Small electric stove/oven, kettle, toaster, fridge, Coal Stove, Gas Stove (2 plate)
• Bathroom facilities: 2 Showers, 2 Toilets
• Bedrooms: 5 – 3 inside the house and 2 on the front Stoep
• Bedroom nr 1 – Double bed
• Bedroom nr 2 – Double bed and a single bed
• Bedroom nr 3 – 2 Single beds
• Bedroom nr 4 – Double bed (On front Stoep)
• Bedroom nr 5 – Double bed (On front Stoep)
• Lounge leading to large outside under cover Braai area
• Comes with 1st bundle of wood, thereafter R20 for 16 pieces
• Need to bring own drinking water
• Houses 11 people in total
• The cost is: R550 per day for the house then Add an Additional R180 per person per day
• Minimum 2 people per day / Minimum 2 nights

 

Cancellation Policy:  A deposit of 50% must be paid once the booking has been made as it will constitute a valid booking. In the event of any cancellation 20% of the deposit will be retained. If full payment has been made, in the event of any cancellation 100% will be retained.

Directions:  

Coming from Oudtshoorn:  Drive to Calitzdorp in the direction of Ladismith. Drive through Calitzdorp, through the Huisrivier Pass. Once you pass a sign on the right saying "Bergplaas", keep an eye out for a sign not long after that saying "OPSOEK" turn left into OPSOEK, at the T-junction turn right, drive past Barn 62, over the driffie, at the top of the the road is a 4 way crossing. Turn left at the 4 way, follow the road all the way down Le KaRoux is on the left - rock wall.
