Roosje van de Kaap Restaurant
The main building dates from around 1790 and here you’ll find our award winning restaurant. We invite you to a mouth-watering menu, ranging from traditional Cape Malay fare to classic French tastes.
As you enter the restaurant you are transported to an old world. The low reed ceiling, thick plastered walls and candlelit atmosphere all physically transport you to a bygone era of the 18th and 19th centuries. Freerk is in control of the kitchen, where an eclectic menu is prepared, representing a variety of cooking disciplines to tantalize the tastebuds...
This is how Eat Out describes the restaurant: "Local gem in an historical stable overlooking the Drostdy building. Distinctive country menu in a fairytale setting; an innovative mix of starters, the essence of seafood preserved by the wood-fired oven, pan-seared fillet of beef, devilled chicken with a classic French reduction - a comprehensive spectrum of styles and tastes. The wine list: Ample and informative with mostly local performers".
